Blenheim Palace

It was a freezing cold evening, but we set off in the moho, having thoroughly defrosted it, ready to walk the light trail.

We checked in at Greenhill Leisure Park, just 4 miles from Blenheim. It’s a lovely site on a farm and I’m sure would be great to visit in the summer. On to Blenheim and afternoon tea. Not the best afternoon tea we’ve had, but it filled us up ready for our walk.

Sadly, we were too early for our booked time and had to look round the market. Lois found a stall selling jewellery made from leaves which have been dipped in precious metals. The delicate leaf structure made each piece unique. Lois fell in love with some beautiful earrings and a necklace. So, Tim obliged by buying them for her.

The light trail was lovely, although we both thought it wasn’t quite as extensive as in previous years. Lois did have a word with Santa and tell him she should be on his nice list, so please would he bring our new motorhome. He seemed to think that was funny, don’t know why!

Back to the motorhome for a baked potato, first time of using the microwave and probably the last! Watched TV and then snuggled up for a cosy night despite the freezing temperatures.

Next morning we went to Oxford and parked in the ParknRide at Redbridge which allows motorhomes in. It’s right opposite the Camping Club campsite. Easy bus ride into Oxford and a delightful couple of hours looking round the Natural History museum before lunch and then driving home. Nice break and we seemed to do a lot even tho we were only away one night.
